One of the biggest mistakes that the Allies made was constantly underestimating Hitler’s actions and plans. Due to this, Hitler was able to invade France through the Ardennes, France – something the Allies thought he would never do. This led to the German Blitzkrieg, known today as one of the most devastating military defeats of the 20th century. This eventually forced France to surrender to Hitler. However, Hitler wasn’t done just yet. He forced France to surrender in the same carriage that Germany surrendered 22 years before. Hitler even toured around Paris and took a photo in front of the Eiffel Tower.
