Before he became the 34th President of the U.S., Dwight D. Eisenhower served as an American army general throughout World War 2. He was a five-star general who has been dubbed one of America’s greatest generals. However, did you know that his start in the war was far from prestigious. He was met with many errors and was responsible for a great number of logistical errors. He also failed to lead in combat operations. British contemporary Field Marshal Alan Brooke grew increasingly frustrated with Eisenhower and criticized him harshly, saying, “Nice chap, no general.”
