The hatred between Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson while filming Vacancy was so bad that the two of them could barely be on set together. The New York Post reported that that Beckinsale couldn’t stand Wilson’s “diva behavior”. She especially found his “womanizing” ways and late night partying to be distasteful. Wilson refused to be on set with Kate and would often send in his stand-in during her scenes. Things got so bad that one day Beckinsale sent in a photo of herself to Wilson with a note attached that read, “Read your lines to this—it will be better for both of us.”
