Hoover Dam is a concrete arch-gravity Dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River which was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression. Hundreds of people who found themselves unemployed during the crisis were employed to work in the construction of the dam but over one hundred of them died tragically in work-related accidents.
