Kids look forward to summer a great deal; so much so that adults often feel stressed that it’s approaching. A lot of things cram your to-do and to-go lists for summer. Everyone’s adrenaline is up and up goes your stress level, too.

Sammy Nickalls of Inspiyr says you can look stress straight in the eye and have some summer fun at the same time. Try these helpful tips.

Enjoy Some Sun

A recent study links sunlight with higher levels of serotonin, a compound that combats depression and irritability.

Join a Class

Do yoga or join a zumba class. Take the kids to an art class and do something you’ve never seemed to have the time for.

Organize

Summer isn’t an excuse for being careless about itineraries and appointments. The season does set a laid-back tone, but you can’t enjoy a quiet afternoon with your head full of details for the next day. Nn organized planner can keep those unnecessary thoughts off your shoulders.

Take Day Trips

Travelling keeps summer exciting. If you can’t leave work for a week or longer, you can have minor trips to the adjacent state or day trips to the beach, instead.

See the Morning Sun

Wake up early so you get to greet the morning sun. Take an early walk and enjoy your surroundings. A morning walk is refreshing and clears your mind for the day ahead.

Regularly Walk or Jog

Walk or jog at least twice a day. Performing work while sitting is very unhealthy for you, physically. Muscles tense and build up stress with long hours of immobility, and moving about releases that stress.

Take Advantage of Good Weather

It’s time to play rough with the guys, hike in the woods, or invite some friends for an outdoor dinner. Let movie-watching be an activity exclusively for winters or bad weather.

Pack your day with sunny disposition and leave no place for stress!
