Video games:  the virtual 3D or 2D programs that let you be whoever you want to be. You can be the Princess’s guardian (Link of Zelda games), a Commander (Shepard of Mass Effect), the one who’s destined to be the Dovahkin (your own character in Skyrim) or even the moustache-laden plumbers  who has to save a Princess from the evil Bowser (Mario or Luigi of the Super Mario games). Whatever you will be, those are video games. Video games are also something you play to pass the time. But while they are good, most would tell you that it wastes your time. Some will tell you that you’re putting away some good things in life for an hour of dungeon-crawling. And some would tell you can’t fit video games into your life. Well, I’m here to tell you: you CAN fit gaming into your life. How? Read on, gamer.

Figure Out the Number of Hours You Can Play

This is one thing you must consider above all else. How many hours can really fit in your daily schedule? 2 hours? 3 hours? Everybody has their own tailored number of hours so you should figure out your hours. But make those hours considerable. You can’t expect yourself to play the whole day right? You have work, you have family, you have friends and you have something called LIFE. So decide on hours that fits well into your daily life. Take my example I play only 1 hour a day. Why? It’s due to a medical condition. I also work as a game writer so how am I able to be well-versed in gaming? I was able to FIT gaming into my daily life. How about Lea Salonga, the singer who’s known for her role as Miss Saigon?. You might think she’s not well-versed in gaming, but you’re wrong. She knows her thing with games, as she’s mentioned some her favorite games include Bioshock, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Super Mario and God of War, among others. It’s not just that: she plays 2-3 hours of gaming a day! Add to this that she’s a mom, and travels the world. So, think you can figure out your hours now?

Track Your Playing Time

All right, so you’ve figured out your hours. Let’s say that’s 2 hours per day. Now, next is how you’ll track your time. There’s a few ways you can do this. One way is to have a timer with you. You can get a timer at any local hardware store or whatever store you know sells them. Next, you just press that start button and then play along. You can then pause the timer when time’s up, and continue on from there. Another way is to have a clock and just look up and down from the clock at all times to see if you’ve passed the mark.

Decide How You’ll Break Down the Hours

What I mean is: will you play your games 30 minutes at a time? 1 hour at a time? All at the same time? It’s up to you how you’ll break down the time. As long as it totals the number of hours you decided for yourself, it’s okay. When you’re done with your designated break down of the hour, you can take a little break. What will you do on a break? Have a snack, go out and walk… do whatever Confitdent.com has in store for you.

Get Your Family, Friends, and Girlfriend to Join You

Why not spend some of those gaming hours having fun in multiplayer games? You can show your family, friends and girlfriend that it’s fun. I’m not saying they’ll be into it right away but you can try letting them know what it’s like in your gaming world. Games like Super Smash Bros, Trine 2, Skullgirls and Castle Crashers will get you and your loved ones into a world of fun. Let them know video games are not a waste of time but actually good times.

Schedule Your Gaming Time Appropriately

Just like how you schedule time with yourself, your family, your girlfriend and your buddies, you can schedule your gaming time, but appropriately of course. Why, do you schedule your gaming when you’re going out with your girlfriend? Do you schedule your gaming when you’re going to embark on a roadtrip? Be considerate when you schedule the gaming. Look at the daily schedule (and your weekend schedule) and when you see a free time not occupied, use that as your gaming time.

There you have it. These are the ways on how to fit gaming into your life. See? It’s not a waste of time. By considering the hours you’ll play, tracking the time, breaking down the time and letting people you care about join you, you can fit gaming into your life. All right, go and enjoy your Titanfall play. Make sure to keep the hours considerable, okay?
