Grilling at parties is very common these days. It makes the party livelier because the guests can join in grilling the food, and they can share tips for how to perfectly grill burgers and hotdogs. These foods taste better grilled rather than fried, as the grill gives a smokey flavor to the dish. If you want to prepare a Sunday lunch for your family and friends, here are some grilling tips for how to cook the perfect hamburgers and hotdogs.

Common Grilling Mistakes

Avoid these common mistakes and you’ll be off and running:

  1. Don’t just place the coals any way you want. Arrange the coals in a pyramid. This way, the middle portion is the hottest part. Once you’ve arranged the coals in a pyramid position, you can light the charcoals.
  2. The second mistake you can make is adding too much lighter fluid on the charcoal. If you add too much lighter fluid, the outer layer of the food will get burned easily, while the inside is not yet cooked.
  3. The third mistake you can make is using a dirty grill. Some people don’t make an effort to clean the surface of the grill after using it. Always make it a habit to clean the surface of the grill before and after use.

Grill Properly

  1. When grilling your veggies, it’s best to place them on aluminum foil and at the outer portion of the grill where the heat is not too high. Remember that by arranging the coals in a pyramid, the middle portion is the hottest part.
  2. There is no need for you to place the hotdogs on aluminum foil because they have casing that protects them from getting burned.
  3. Burgers have some fat, so there is also no need to use aluminum foil. The heat of the grill will release some oil which prevents the burgers from sticking to the grill.
  4. If your meat sticks to the surface of the grill, they’re not fully cooked and aren’t ready to be flipped yet.
  5. If you want more flavor, brush the meat with some barbecue sauce.
  6. Grill the buns. Once everything is done, place the meat on the bread, then the veggies on top.
