Ingredients

  • 2 15oz cans garbanzo beans
  • 1-2 lemons
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup tahini
  • Some olive oil
  • Some water
  • Some salt

Food Processing

After draining the garbanzo beans, put all the ingredients in a food processor. Be sure not to put too much water and olive oil at first. You need to add more of these ingredients when the mixture is already half-way processed so you’ll know how much oil and water you should add.

Adding a bit more water to the mixture will make your hummus fluffy. Make sure you add just a bit at a time to avoid making it too runny. To do this, add about a tablespoon of water then process your dip. If you think it needs more water, add a tablespoon at a time so that you can control the amount of water in your mixture.

This Middle Eastern dip is not only great for dipping chips and other foods, it’s also great to use as a spread. Just grab a slice of bread, toasted or not, and spread your hummus on top. There’s your instant healthy sandwich.
