Bella is a really special girl. Although life has been very tough on her she keeps on going strong and happy throughout it. She decided not to give in to her condition but to fight it with any help she can get. You won’t believe how brave she can be!

25. A Happy Family

Her mother, Rachel, is there for her all the time but at some point, it became clear that she needed someone else to get her through the day. And, believe me, help came in an amazing way!

24. Rare Disease

11-year old Bella Burton was diagnosed at the age of two with a very rare disease called Morquio Syndrome. This disease stops the production of one very important growth enzyme, and the results are devastating for her bones. The little girl had to go through a lot of surgeries and you won’t believe who helped her go through all of it!

Morquio Syndrome has no cure at this point and most patients end up living their short lives completely disabled. As devastating as it sounds, Bella found herself a new bestie that will soon change her life!

22. Service Dog Project

Bella used to play around with service dogs from the Service Dog Project. They are a non-profit organization that trains dogs to be of help for disabled people. Their project is funded purely by donations and fundraising. Here’s how Bella met her new furry BFF…

21. Bella Meets One Very Special Dog

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

Most dogs from the Service Dog Project didn’t really give any attention to Bella, until one day when she met a very special dog called George. The connection between them was instant, and George didn’t want to let her go. The two of them became so close that the organization decided to do something amazing!

20. The Happiest Day Ever!

The Service Dog Project decided to donate George to Bella’s family, and from that moment it was clear that a very special bond started to take shape. But no one knew back then that George will end up saving Bella’s life

19. Leaning On

As soon as George and Bella started hanging out, she realized that she doesn’t need to use her crouches or wheelchair anymore. She started to lean on him and use him as a crouch. Although it may seem like a simple walk, this helps Bella’s muscles to develop. The pooch is not only making her happy, but he’s also helping her recover! And this is not all, Bella’s life changed completely!

18. Going to School

George is very intelligent. He learned all of her school classes and how to get there. She doesn’t even have to tell him where they are going anymore, he just leads the way. And the kids at her school learned that they must not distract him from his work with Bella.

But Bella’s condition requires her to have periodic surgeries. You won’t believe how George reacted when he saw her in the hospital for the first time!

17. Surgeries

Bella’s incredible recovery also included a few surgeries. She had reconstructions of her hips and feet and George followed her through all of that. At first, he wasn’t really happy with doctors doing things to her but he soon learned that they were a part of her treatment.

Each time Bella goes to the doctor, George is right there by her side! It’s incredible how he manages to keep the girl calm, see them for yourself in the following photo.

Each time they’re in the hospital, the pooch patiently waits for his best friend to finish. It may seem like he’s doing nothing, but he’s actually the one who comforts Bella the most.

Doctors say that some of the surgeries wouldn’t even be possible if she didn’t develop as much as she did, thanks to George. Soon, Bella’s parents will witness a miracle, and it’s all thanks to the service dog!

15. Growing Up Together

Usually, people that suffer from this condition rarely manage to reach their teenage years and Bella’s parents are aware of that. But since they took George into their house, the little girl’s well being changed drastically. George has become not only a friend to Bella but ‘a member of the family‘, as her father describes him.

The dog is now part of their lives and they share together some really cool moments. And we have the photos to prove it! You won’t believe how much George enjoys going to restaurants or riding in the family car.

14. Family Time

While most of the dogs would get their heads out of the window or bark at the other cars, George knows that he’s on a mission and never leaves Bella’s side. It’s incredible to see how devoted and loving he can be. He even acts nice when they’re going out for dinner or when they’re at the beach. Check him out…

13. The Beach

George loves the beach but once again he’s not leaving Bella’s side although he would probably enjoy going for a swim. The two of them are inseparable! Soon, everyone heard about their story and it went viral! Here’s how everything started…

12. BarkPost

Their incredible story quickly spread around and not long after BarkPost heard about them. They decided George and Bella needed a celebration just for the two of them. They had a plan and it was time to put it in motion.

11. Best Day Ever

BarkPost prepared the best day ever for George and Bella. They wanted to surprise them, so this is what they did. George deserved this more than any other dog. Now, what exactly did they plan out for them? It’s time to check that out!

10. George Loves Burgers

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

They found out that George’s favorite food is burgers. He is just crazy about them. Logically, the first thing they planned out was treating George with as many burgers as he wanted. Being the smart dog that he is, he ate only the meat. They also learned that both Bella and George love the snow…

9. Snow Activities

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

Bella and George love playing in snow more than anything. They closed the ski area just so they could play alone. Their favorite thing to do is slide around in the snow and George couldn’t stop running alongside Bella. Then, they went shopping…

8. Treat Shopping

Next on the list was the treat shop for dogs. They have dozens of dog treats and food that dogs can play with. It’s pretty much a candy store for dogs. George was delighted, especially with a dino bone. He finally found a bone of a perfect size!

7. Dog Toys

After that, they came back to the hotel suite which BarkPost arranged for them. To their surprise, the hotel room was filled with dog toys for George. All kinds of toys that he instantly enjoyed!

6. That’s Not All

That wasn’t the last gift, though. But, before we get to the best gift they prepared for George let’s first mention that BarkPost gave them a new service dog gear and everything else a dog owner needs to have. George will be all set for some time now.

5. George Gets His Own Bed

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

BarkPost saw the photos of George sleeping in Bella’s bed. But George is a big dog and it’s not easy for Bella to have him sleep like that and the family didn’t find a dog bed big enough for him. The obvious solution was to get them an awesome one. George finally received his own bed so Bella won’t have to lose comfort during their sleep.

4. Donation

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

One of the things they gifted was a check donation to the Service Dog Project to breed and train 18 more dogs exactly like George. They realized George is very special and lots of families with disabled members could be helped this way. Bella was delighted to hear there will be more “Georgies”.

3. Best Friend

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

Bella and George had an instant connection. It’s uncommon to see a service dog react this way from the very start. It’s like she was meant to stumble upon him. George has become her savior and her best friend.

2. Fundraising

Source: www.weloveanimals.me

Bella’s family has been generously running a fundraising campaign, over the social media and friends, by selling t-shirts. All the profits went to Service Dog Project to train more incredible dogs like George and help dozens of others in need.
