The average person lives about 29,000 days based on the Americans’ average life expectancy of 79.8 years according to WHO 2013 data.  If you’re in your 30s now, how much time have you got left? Whether it’s 15,000 or 15 days, it’s important to make every day count. Sammy Nickalls of Inspiyr tells us how to make sure every day counts.

Work Toward A Goal

Aim for something. Every single day should bring you closer to that goal. If you’re simply sailing by in life, you’re getting nowhere. Work toward personal growth and development. Pursue a hobby, learn a new language, master chess, build that 6-pack, volunteer for a cause, , get to know your neighbours, etc.

Always Have Time For Something New

Challenge yourself to master something in 30 days: finish a woodworking project, complete 5 generations of your family tree, teach yourself a new skill.

Get Fit

If you’re not sure how to get to your goal, 10,000 steps every day will surely get you there. Walk with your dog, your spouse, or your kid. Don’t rush to the elevator, but walk up the stairs instead. Park your car a few blocks from your workplace. There are many simply ways to get fit.

Help Others

Volunteer. Share your time, talent, and resources. You don’t live in a vacuum, so reach out.

Want Something And Save For It

Have you always wanted to visit another country? Don’t push the thought away because you can’t afford it. In fact, start saving for it now. Calculate how much it’ll cost you and what your timeframe is. Watching your funds grow is empowering, too.

Tackle A Big Job By Breaking It Into Mini-Tasks

As you finish each smaller step, you’ll see that the big task isn’t as daunting as you initially thought. The minor success you feel every time you finish a step will encourage you to finish the next step.

Love And Be Loved

It’s always the best way to begin and end every day.

If your life hasn’t been meaningful to you, repurpose it. It’s not too late. You have today, and that matters.
