Shaking a Martini

This drink has been dubbed one of the perfect creations of Americans. Because this is a very popular cocktail, almost everyone will notice if this drink isn’t mixed properly. Thus, you have to make sure that you practice the art of mixing this kind of drink before showing off at your next party.

Here is the proper way to shake a martini:

1. Prepare the right ingredients: Some people prepare this drink with vodka. However, gin is the proper base for this cocktail, as gin has more flavor than vodka. Also grab some dry vermouth. This is the other ingredient that you will use in making this drink. You should also grab some olives or lemons, so that you can have two kinds of garnishing for your cocktail.
2. Make the drinks: To mix a good martini, pour two fluid ounces of vodka or gin in your mixing glass, then add an ounce of dry vermouth. Drop in ice and mix it for 25-30 seconds. It’s important to remember not to shake your cocktail in a shaker, as this will ruin the taste of your drinks. A stirrer will do.
3. Serving: Pour the cocktail in a martini glass. Then, before you serve your cocktail, ask your buddies which garnishing they would like. You can add olives or you can add lemon zest to make the drinks have a bit of a twist. When serving your drinks, make sure that you clean the lemons really well, as you will have to squeeze a bit of its juice into the drink and dump the peel in the glass.
