In case you are following the fitness world trends, you are surely aware of the fact that the workout routines have to be varied constantly in order for them to function properly and form your body to benefit from the results. There are a lot of trainers and coaches that focus more on high intensity and shorter duration programs instead of focusing in drawn-out, traditional long sessions also followed by stair climbing or cardio exercises. If you are a fitness-world enthusiast, then you surely also heard about CrossFit and are questioning its efficiency.

Mainly, the CrossFit workout is represented by a series of highly functional constantly varied exercises that cover a lot of different motions that are done at a moderate or high intensity for a short period of time and only in group coached environments. A regular workout of this type includes strength-building components that are done with dumbbells or a barbell, aerobics consisting of running, working with medicine balls, jumping on boxes or jumping over objects or rowing, plus some gymnastics like dips, push-ups or pull-ups. The exercises must be done without resting in between them. In addition, everything has to be measured: the repetition number, the total workout period, and so on, in order for the final progress to be monitored. In what concerns the regular workout time, this can vary between fifteen and twenty minutes. Even if this does not seem much, there are a lot of exercises that can be done during this time period.

The Versatility of CrossFit

In case this sounds a little bit intimidating, you have to know that CrossFit provides an element that can alleviate the fear, and this is represented by the scalability of the program. The workouts in this program are created in such a way in which everyone can do them by suing the same technique, but by regulating the weights or incorporating different assistance strategies. Therefore, both athletes and couch potatoes can perform these exercises without any problem whatsoever. Actually, the main purpose of the CrossFit workout is to provide physical exercises that everyone can do, regardless of their fitness level.

Therefore, the CrossFit facilities cannot and do not compare with the standard gyms. When walking into one of the CrossFit gyms, you might be wondering where the machines are. The fact is that this workout program tries and even succeeds in providing the best training for people, but without using a lot of equipment. This does not mean however that it does not use any at all. Actually, CrossFit resembles a personal type of training. Nonetheless, it is better than it, as it provides extra motivation and better results.
