You need to upgrade your apartment from a college kid pad. If your man cave is just a lot of mess, with men’s adult magazines and beer bottles all over the place, it’s time to act like an adult and arrange your home like a true gentleman.

Bachelor Pad: Bedroom

Your bedroom must have a real bed and not just a futon. It’s more practical if the style of the bed can accommodate more storage places underneath. This way, you can put the things that you don’t regularly use under your bed, like a mini-storage area.

Buy bed sheets that are appropriate for your age. True, Avenger-designed beddings may be cute, but you’re no longer a college kid and you need to upgrade your man cave. Choose sheets with higher thread counts because they’re made from softer fabrics.

Fix your closet. Don’t just throw anything there, but do your best to group together your trousers, shirts, undergarments, etc. You don’t need to be meticulous, but at least make your closet look decent.

Bachelor Pad: Living Room

Keep those adult men’s magazines in the bathroom. Stop the habit of placing them on the living room table. Guests may come to your man cave and one of the first things they’ll notice is what’s on your coffee table. Display some magazines or books that have substance. You’ll look more mature and educated.

Bachelor Pad: Furniture

Remove those pin-up girl posters from your wall. The walls look so much better with art. You don’t have to make an investment with art pieces, but buy something that’s made by an unknown artist and hang it on your wall.

Bachelor Pad: Kitchen

Your man cave should have the basic kitchen gadgets other than a microwave (pots and pans, knives, vegetable peeler, etc.). You’re now a working man and one way or another, you have to learn how to cook some basic food. College kids are fond of takeout, but as you mature, it’ll be necessary for you to perform some basic kitchen stuff. Moreover, keep your kitchen area clean so rodents and other crawling insects won’t have a good time cleaning the kitchen for you. Throw out the garbage regularly and keep the area sanitized.

Bachelor Pad: Bathroom

Keep your bathroom free of mold. Clean it at least once a week.

Bachelor Pad: Maintenance

You must learn how to do minor repairs around your man cave, like unclogging the sink. You’ll spend less money if you learn how to do minor house repairs.

Bachelor Pad: Keep it Clean

One of the traits of a matured gentleman is learning how to keep your place clean. It’s one of your responsibilities. Vacuum the floor, throw out the garbage, keep the kitchen and bathroom nice and good-smelling, and arrange your clothes neatly. Be a real man and make your bachelor pad a perfect dwelling place for you.
