Sean Hyson is the Group Training Director for Men’s Fitness and Muscle & Fitness magazines. He has written about exercise and nutrition for the past decade, and underwent a 12-week transformation where he lost 35 pounds. He lives in New York City.

Why We Like Sean Hyson

Sean’s rise in the fitness industry is most notable from his work with Men’s Fitness, Muscle & Fitness, UFC, and Sly magazines. While his content and research have always been thorough, we believe that Sean’s transformation put him on an entirely different level. Granted, there are thousands of men like Sean Hyson who can lift weight and are muscular with low body fat percentage, but many of them cannot relate to the average guy. Sean’s experience in transforming his body from dough to granite has really separated him from a lot of fitness writers.

Sean also has a really interesting portfolio in working for a lifestyle fitness magazine (Men’s Fitness), a sports magazine (UFC), and bodybuilding magazines that covers ground breaking nutrition and training research (Muscle & Fitness, Sly). That being said, Sean’s awareness of the benefits of a healthy and fit lifestyle goes far beyond the training room floor.

Sean Hyson’s Accolades

With the rising popularity of fitness and health trends, it can be really hard to differentiate what works and what does not. Sean Hyson helped make it easier for all of us with his free eBook (released 2012) that serves as a Buyer’s Guide for fitness and nutrition programs that are out in the marketplace.

Everywhere you look these days, there are new diets and trends. One of the most discussed is carb-backloading. Through interviews with John Kiefer, extensive research, and experimenting, Sean Hyson has become an authoritative figure for carb-backloading. Although carb back-loading was created by Kiefer, Sean Hyson has become one of its most ardent supporters.

Sean Hyson also recently did a terrific interview with Arnold Schwarzenegger for Men’s Fitness and even wrote on Arnold’s website about the trials and tribulations of  carb-backloading. While some fitness writers go in and out of this industry, we know one thing is for sure – Sean Hyson is here to stay.
