home gym

Going to the gym is not only expensive but intimidating as well which is why home gyms are becoming increasingly popular. Convenience is key and you don’t really have an excuse when you’re less than 100 feet from your “gym.” So whether your local gym is too far from home or you can’t get a chance to use the squat rack because a pack of hyenas are taking turns using it, we totally understand the notion of wanting to workout and shower at home.

Before spending the money on creating a home gym, you need to hold yourself accountable. Otherwise, your benchpress may just become a place to pile laundry. Do you do push ups at home? If not, then how do you expect to do full workouts with equipment if you can’t spare a few minutes to do push ups?

Creating Your Own Gym at Home

To start creating your own gym at home, you will need just a single piece of workout equipment: a suspension pulley. This will help you gain flexibility, strength, muscle and balance. It is extremely versatile and doesn’t take up much space.

Choose What Kind of Suspension Pulley You’re Going to Buy

You can choose from slightly more expensive suspension pulleys like TRX that are of great quality or you can get the simple ones that are a bit cheaper. Attach it to a sturdy wall or door in your home, preferably somewhere with adequate space for you to work out.

Do the Squat Jumps

Get your muscles twitching and your heart racing with squat jumps. This will help you build endurance, core strength, and will power your legs and balance. Using the pulley/suspension trainer, walk back from it while your arms are stretched forward then squat like you’re sitting on a chair. Jump and land softly, getting back on your squat position.

Suspended Push Up

Turn your back on the pulley, the straps over your shoulders, and lean forward while standing on your toes so that you are leaning your weight forward. Do push ups slowly, focusing on your core and chest.

Inverted Row

Inverted row is like inverted push-ups. Instead of leaning forward facing the floor, you’re going to lean while facing the pulley. Use your soles to stop you from sliding then pull your body towards the ceiling. Make sure to keep your body straight and never bend your knees.

The workouts mentioned above are great for working out at home as they are not too hard to do yet they can get you started. Also, they will give you everything you need for a better physique, enhanced strength and better balance. Be sure to improve your training over time to maintain your physique and make it better.
