Kelly Michelle Zapata shared her knowledge of Officer Mears. “He always greets you with a warm smile to make your day & cares about how your day went,” she wrote. Another person pointed out that his actions were “a fine example of policing.” It seemed like the story touched a real nerve around the U.S.
Mears saved Monica and Chris from a frustrating and potentially expensive night. If they had missed their train home, who knows when or how they would have made it back? Officer Mears could have walked away after taking them to an elevator. Instead he saw to it that they had a great experience.
