3. Not Living in the Here and Now

Don’t whine about what could have been or lay awake at nights feeling anxious about what’ll happen in the future. This doesn’t suggest that you’re not affected by the past or the future; it merely means that you don’t dwell too much in them. If you made a past mistake, learn from it. If you have a dream, be driven by it. By no means should you miss out on life. Live the moment.

4. Not Living Your Own Life

Stop comparing your life with others. Other people’s lives will always look more attractive; therefore, comparing it to yours is a sure-fire way to feel miserable. It’s better to compare your life now with your life before. Certainly you’ve improved, gained more knowledge and skills, and are better off in life. Look back and find something to smile about. Be genuinely happy for the good fortune of others. If your friend lands the job of their dreams, it should be a source of happiness for you, too, instead of being a source of envy.
