Anyone who plans to buy an Xbox console has got to have the Halo games. Halo is the franchise that launched Xbox into massive popularity. It’s also one of the game franchises that showed everyone around the world that FPS (first-person shooters) can be made great on consoles. Now, you wonder: you got an Xbox One but you can’t get access to the Halo series because they’re on the previous Xbox consoles, and the only Halo game you can play is the Halo: Spartan Assault. That’s all about to change because…

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to the Xbox One

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is the ultimate Halo bundle that packs Halo: Combat Evolved & Halo 2 (both of which are Anniversary Edition) , Halo 3, Halo 4, the digital series Halo: Nightfall and the beta to the new Halo 5: Guardians. This one will get you updated for Halo 5 so no need to worry about not playing the first Halo games because it’s already bundled for release soon for the Xbox One.

As the trailer shows, we see Master Chief in one of the iconic moments in Halo 2. But the twist to this is it’s all being projected in some holographic device, and it’s being watched by a new character that will play a role in Halo 5: Agent Locke. As Locke begins to unravel Master Chief’s life, you’ll begin to see what Locke is all about and what Halo 5’s story will be. This gives gamers an interesting way to interact with all the past stories and still be engaged in the new game’s story, at least partly.

What can you expect in this collection? Besides improved and remastered graphics, you can expect some good improvements to the gameplay in the Halo games now that they’ll be brought over to the Xbox One. Then there’s the digital TV series, Nightfall, which spans more into the saga. And of course, there’s the beta for Halo 5 which will give old and new fans a taste for what’s to come for the anticipated game. Don’t worry multiplayer fanatics: all multiplayer content will be intact for all the games, so if you want to go back in time to what it was like playing the first Halo, you can do so with this collection.
