Bicentennial Man
In this film, Robin Williams plays an android robot with great intelligence. Over the course of the story, the robot begins to fall in love with the family’s daughter, and years later, the daughter’s daughter. This prompts the robot to find a way to become a human being. You can already tell you’re going to be crying about this, aren’t ya? (SPOILER ALERT): First, there’s the part when the robot’s first love becomes old and dies. And the second part is when the robot FINALLY becomes human after so many years and lying down next to him is the daughter’s daughter, who has become old like him as well. They hold hands and they await the natural death that comes to them. This is going to be a weeper-inducing moment because it shows just how far the robot went for the love of his entire robot life. He could’ve waited for years and still live as a robot and yet, he wanted humanity. Would you go far for the love of your life, even if it cost you? Damn, that’ll have you cry.
