The number of this unique species of sharks has plummeted by a staggering 95% over the past 30 years. The main reason is overfishing due to an increased demand for shark fins. Despite of them being extremely tasty (you should try shark soup), we would still sacrifice the pleasure if it meant that hammerheads would continue to exist.
