8. Americans Didn’t Adopt The Convoy System

British forces had been dealing with the Germans and their U-Boats for quite some time and they were prepared to combat them with a unique system known as the Convoy System. However, since the Americans had joined in on the war so late, the United States didn’t adopt this system until 1942. This turned out to be a huge liability throughout the war and cost the Allies a lot of lost lives and tactical errors.
