Beginner Workout Mistake: Stop Focusing on Too Many Goals

Before stepping into the gym, the first thing you should have in mind are your goals. Without them, you will be wandering around the gym aimlessly without the ability to track progress or improvement.

However, many beginners focus on too many goals. The skinny guy wants to gain muscle but is afraid to lose their “abs” definition. While on the other hand, guys with excess weight want to get lean but are afraid to lose size when they get lean. At the end of the day, neither the skinny nor the guy with excess weight will rock a chiseled body.

My advice for beginners is that if you are skinny, forget about preserving your abs and start eating to compliment your training, if you have excess weight to lose, get lean before ever thinking of bulking.

Don’t chase two rabbits at once, you’ll end up losing them both.
