Beginner Workout Mistake: Not Switching Things Up

Whilst sticking to a training program is important, many people do a beginner workout program or diet that helped them change their physique and now believe it is their magic pill. They stick to the same program for years and hope that it will keep the gains coming.

You must not make this mistake. Understand that there will be plateaus and when plateaus happen, it’s time to switch things up. Simple changes to exercise selection, rep and set schemes and rest periods is often enough to help stimulate new growth and progress in a beginners training.

When it comes to training, take heed the advice of the legendary Dan John: “ Everything works, but everything works only for a while.”
